We have tried the Snugg iPad mini cover now for over two months and the results are generally very positive.
When it arrived at GorillaGolfBlog, we were somewhat startled by the bright orange color but we quickly got over that as it turned out to be very trendy and in fact made the case extremely visible – we definitely like the orange color.
The next impression was that at first it seemed much thicker than the previous cover that we had before, but we got used to that right away. In fact, Snugg cover gave the impression to be much more solid and protective of the mini iPad.
The iPad mini fits in the case relatively easily and is completely secure due to the velcro closure – another security feature. The workmanship of the leather is well made with solid stitching which looks like it will never wear out – all positive aspects.
We did find the pen holder superfluous – this might be a feature which would be more useful for a pad with a stylus – but not the iPad mini. Access to the volume buttons is not easy if you have large fingers nor is the on-off switch.
The camera lens has full visibility and the symmetrical cut-out opposite to the camera lens for the inter-screen switch is fine. The overall aperture for the screen is completely satisfactory.
We didn’t use the hand-holding elastic bit (and am not sure who does – but apparently it is appreciated by the public) and the built-in “stand” system in the back of the cover is quite well designed but as in any small cover has a limited range even though there are two angles. On a desk, it works well; in bed or sitting it is somewhat problematic as it is not easy to find the right comfort zone. In fairness, our feeling is that this is a difficult problem for any manufacture to resolve.
In summary, the Snugg is of high quality workmanship and did not wear at all during the months of our extensive use. It is well-designed and competitively priced. This iPad mini cover gets thumbs up from us!
