With the usual suspects going through various personal problems, this is the year when an unknown could pull a Rocky Balboa in the golfing world. Tiger Woods hasn’t been the same since his marriage ended and Phil Mickelson is reportedly suffering from arthritis. Having Woods out of the reckoning might be stretching it too far, but he is in the worst form of his career.
Despite this, 2011 promises to be a great year for golf. With tournaments lined up all through the year, it is the perfect treat for any avid golfing fan. There are many promising pro golfers who could make 2011 their year. These are the players to pick if you want to improve your Golf Odds:
Rory McIlroy
Rory McIlroy (a Gorilla Golf Blog favorite…) has been touted as a major contender for championships in both the US and British Open. Currently one of the favorites to win, having started his professional career just two years back, McIlroy is young – that’s good and bad. He is scheduled to play in tournaments all over the globe and is expected to win a lot of them too. If he can maintain his exemplary attitude and his health, he will be one to beat.
Dustin Johnson
Though not exactly a newcomer to the golfing circuit, it is hard to believe that Dustin Johnson has been around for only 3 years. This may come as a rude shock to many due to the level of success he has been able to achieve in this relatively short period of time. He has made the news for controversies previously and has been hailed for being able to brush them off and coming back strongly.
Rickie Fowler
Rickie Fowler is said to be one of the hottest golfing prospects and a welcome addition to the PGA Tour, which he will be on for a number of years to come. Still in his early 20s, Fowler has a playing style that depicts maturity which does not show that he has been around for only two years or so. Look forward to a great year for this young golfer from Oklahoma.
Ryo Ishikawa
The ‘Rock Star’ from Japan is still only 20 but has been revered by fans in his home country for many years now. One of the most exciting players ever to hail from Asia, Ishikawa is still missing that one great success that will propel him into the top bracket of professional golfers. Let’s hope that he does it in 2011.
Rickie Barnes
Rickie Barnes has been around for a while but took a lot of time to turn pro. Well better late than never, as the experts say, as we finally get the chance to see this talented golfer take his place among the sport’s greatest this year on the PGA Tour.
Kevin Streelman
2010 was the best year of Kevin Streelman’s brief professional career. He is expected to carry his success streak into 2011 and finally make a name for himself when he competes in the major tournaments and championships this year.
Webb Simpson
Another one said to be mature beyond his years, Webb Simpson looks a bright prospect for this year’s PGA Tour. He had a semi-successful year last season but is looking to make progress and have a wonderful year in 2011.
These are some of the hot golf talents you will get to see on the PGA Tour in 2011. Are we right or are we right?

Hey Tommy there is also Vegas, Wilson and Crane who are relatively new and setting the world on fire. The talent out there is unbelievable. Who do you think will win next?

The only pro golf player known to me as I was growing up is Tiger Woods and I know him better after the controversy. I know few of women golfers though like Michelle Wie and Rachel Jennings
