Few golf apps have been as eagerly awaited as this new offering from Red Mat Media. Who’s Your Caddy is offering golfers something a little different to the normal golf-caddy app. Firstly, this golf app is free and indeed, with its revenue share program, the app promises to create partnerships between golf courses and users that will generate both income and ‘Gimmes’ – a series of free gifts from businesses in the locality- for users.  Advertisers gain exposure via the app, the users get great golf advice and tips for free, plus the ‘Gimmes’.

The Golfer and Their Bag: Luke Donald Golf Equipment

For Luke Donald, 2011 was almost a perfect year. Not only did he become the first golfer ever to win both the European PGA and USPGA Tour money titles in the same year, he cemented his position as world number one with a season of unerring consistency that has seen him rightfully acclaimed as currently the world’s best golfer.

Indeed, the only way Donald could have improved on this momentous year would have been to have added a major title to his collection of victories. With the 2012 season just gearing up and professional golfers starting to get their swing into shape for the first major of the year this April at Augusta, Donald will no doubt be itching to finally put that right.

Rickie Fowler and his Titleist Golf Equipment

The graduate of Oklahoma State University may be famous for his bright orange outfits reminiscent of his alma mater jersies, but Rickie Fowler is also one of American golf’s most exciting young golfing talents. Perhaps most remarkable, is that the Californian is almost entirely self-taught.

His time spent practising alone on the range paid dividends as his natural talent shone through at high school and at OSU. As an amateur he appeared in two Walker Cup events, turning professional after the second of these in 2009.

He quickly joined the pro ranks signing deals with Puma (clothing) and Titleist (clubs and balls). His exciting style of play, never say die attitude, and competitive spirit have already earmarked him as a future great.

Tiger Woods and his Nike Golf Equipment

Whisper it quietly, but the Tiger may finally be stirring from its two-year slumber. His form in the recent Emirates Australian Open saw him finish a respectable third in the tournament, finishing behind Greg Chalmers and John Senden. Indeed, had it not been for a dismal third round 75, Woods may well have comfortably won the tournament, posting as he did scores of 68, 67 and a final day 67 to land third spot on his own.

Woods frequent interviews where he seems to dismiss reporters fears over his much modified swing and insistence that things are coming together, finally look like they have a grain of truth. It could not have come at a better time especially after this week’s Presidents Cup, not least because it pitted Tiger against former caddie Steve Williams (now on the bag for Adam Scott). Tiger may have finally found some form, even if the team golf format hasn’t been the best showcase for his talents in the past.

Ernie Els and his Callaway Golf Clubs | Callaway Golf Equipment

If there is a professional golfer most responsible for the collective angst shared by amateur golfers as to just how difficult the game actually is, then it is arguably Ernie Els. Watching the big South African play the game is beguiling. His languid, flowing swing seems effortless end entirely natural.

It has earned him the nickname The Big Easy and the results of his swing are usually spectacular. Els is only too aware of how his game appears to others, stating:

Jack Nicklaus Golf Clubs and Golf Equipment

For a man who has achieved so much in golf, and who has shaped the current position of professional golf like no other, Jack Nicklaus is a remarkably humble man. As he stood on the famous Swilken Bridge at St. Andrews in 2005, taking a ten minute standing ovation from an adoring crowd, Nicklaus was saying goodbye on the final hole when playing in his last Open Championship.
