Personal Mission to Break 80 – Yes I Can!

The journey continues…

Date: August 29, 2011

Holes: 9

Conditions:

Played Montreux this morning with Pierre Massard. Pierre is in training for the 2016 Olympics as a para-golfer.
Greens and course in very playable – excellent condition. After the first hole, I played pretty well as the score indicates. What is good is that I feel I can do even better. Admittedly, it was only 9 holes, but it all counts! Happily, Pierre is great at finding errant balls. Had two which could have ended in disaster had they not been found.

Self-tip: Slow down the swing.. Focus on the finish.

Results: 42 for 9 holes with 17 putts. Now if I could do that in Lausanne In and Out for 18 holes! Two competitions coming up this week – we’ll see what happens…

Personal Mission to Break 80 – The Beginning

GGB editor, Tommy Priest is now baring his golfing soul….

I felt that the only way I could make significant progress with my game was by posting his scorecards and progress (or regression).

Objective over the next 12 months:

HCP: 12 (currently 15.7) and to Break 80.

Your suggestions and support is welcome!

 August 26, 2011

Holes: 18

Conditions:

Greens have been sanded and aerated making putting especially difficult. Started at 07:30 so dew also made the greens very slow and unpredictable on the front nine.

Self-tip: I felt that by looking just ahead of the ball when I hit, it improved my accuracy and distance. We’ll see if that lasts…

Results: 88 with 36 putts. I thought my putting would be much worse than the results show).
